Biodiesel is a renewable energy, which does not contain sulfur, aromatic compounds and contributes to the reduction of particulate emissions, also thanks to the presence of oxygen in its molecule.
The use of biodiesel decreases dramatically unburned hydrocarbons and the content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, the qualitative type of particulate is significantly different than that resulting from conventional diesel, accentuating the soluble fraction which has a greater effect on the catalytic converter.
